I would like to translate the University of Oklahoma Crimson and Cream into automotive paint codes...? I have the codes for the actual crimson and cream used by the University of Oklahoma. However, these codes are for print, wall paint, etc. What do I need to do to have these codes converted to match an exceptional custom vehicle paint?

Question about wetsanding for automotive paint? I have added a front lip to my front bumper, but the front lip piece was delivered primed only(primer gray color). I ordered a 12oz can of spray paint straight from my vehicle manufacturer matching the paint color code. Here is what I have done. 1) I washed the lip and "clayed" it to get all contaminants off. 2) I then gave the bumper a quick wetsand with 1800 grit dry/wet sandpaper going in a uniform pattern using a sanding plate. 3) Using the spray can, I gave it a first coat of color(thin first coat) and have let it dried overnight. I would like to give it 1 more coat of color and then hit it with a can of clear coat spray paint(maybee 2 or 3 coats of clear) then polish, then do a final wax. The first color coat looks very good considering it came from a can. What should I do between a) color 1 to color 2 b) color 2 to clear 1 c) clear 1 to clear 2 d) clear 2 to clear 3 Any wetsanding or polishing in between coats? What grit or what type of polish?

1981 mercury capri black magic? I have a 1981 Mercury Capri Black with gold pinstriping and everything but when I put the paint code in sherwin-automotive.com it comes up 1985. Does anyone know what the paint code is suppose to be on a black magic? I would really appreciate any information. I want to restore it back to original.

Question for anyone that knows automotive paints. I need some help.? About 6 months ago I had a gallon for paint mixed for a customer, After I already have it mixed the customer changed his mind and desided to trade in his car rather then paint it. Since then I used the hardener and reduser on other jobs. Now normal this would not be an issue, But the customer requested the he keep the paint label that had the mix code on it before I paint the car or get paint on the label. So I took the label off the can and gave it to him. A few days later he desided not to have it painted. SO now I have a gallon of very pretty blue pearl paint with no label and I can't remember what type of paint it was. Only thing I can remember for sure is the shop I bought it from, And that shop I only buy 2 types of paint from. Limco 1-2-3 single stage urethane, and Limco urethane basecoat. So I know it is one of the two, I just cant remember witch one it is. I know I did not buy a clear coat when I bought the paint, so that makes me think that it is the single stage. BUT I could have had some clear left over at the time that I planed to use. So my question is. Anyone know of a way I can tell for a 100% fact what type paint it is? BTW: Ive got some other left over limco single stage urethane AND some left over limco base coat from other jobs. I tryed to see if I could determine by compairing smells. Limco base and limco urethane smell the same to me. thanks

What is a HEX paint code for Automotive paint? I have a HEX paint code. It's for a aftermarket wheel. I have called several good paint suppliers and non of them know what it is. Any help would be great.
